I'm at work at present but if no one else can help I took pictures of my alternator in place (just for that reason) and I can either post them on the site or email them to you.

Hello, diesher.
No problem.
Just put it back in the only way it will fit..ie with the rear terminats horizontal and the fanhousing enged in the dowels at the bottom on the case.
Or is there something specifically puzzling you?
Kind regards
David

The problem is that the alternator is invisible with the engine assembled. It actually doesn't matter which way the alternator is aligned, but try and get the terminal markings, B+, D- etc, readable horizontally. What is important is the position of the ducting that fits over it. The horizontal portion is at the bottom.
