Where to buy a steering rack

Post by tanick »

Had a quick look round the web last night looking for a steering rack. Anyone know where I can get one? Does the front cross member need to come off to fit it?

Having done a bit more research today i think I need to spend a bit of time working out what's going on with the steering. I also see that Type 911 sell ZF reconditioned ones for £340 or locally reconditioned ones for £200.

I'm not sure its the rack now! I'll let you know if I need. Thanks anyway.

Morning, Nick.

Your right, IMHO.

The rack does not usually give much trouble..unless the boot is split..

Then water enters and destroys the bottom ball bearing and rusts the rack..

Kind regards
David
