'73 rear lenses

Post by hot66 »

I am thinking about replacing the rear lenses on my 2.4S as the black edging is a bit patchy & they have the usual cracks around the mounting screws.

Who makes the best ( most original) replacement black edged rear lenses?

:)

there are cheaper repro's available but i found the fit/colour wasnt quite right, probably ok for a daily, but for a car as nice as yours I'd say get Bosch ones, just my tuppence worth.

I got my ('72) silver edged front lenses from Mittelmotor. Seemed the best price by some margin at the time. They are genuine Bosch. Same probably applies for the rear ones. :)

I'm fairly sure that the lenses are the same from '73-'89 - the later lamp bodies are slightly different & have additional wiring but are interchangeable.

Gary - I may be wrong but the lenses I have had from Mittelmotor (& Lenz-Trend, Feboe, Eurocar Parts, Roger Bray, Partsource, etc) were repros...

Maybe Andy, but they were in a Bosch bag with Bosch markings?:)

How would I tell? :?:

Bazz, the link is:

http://www.mittelmotor.de/english/startenglish.htm

Then go to 'webshop is online' '911' 'electrical parts' 'lights' 'rear lights' The front lenses can be found in the rear section as well :)

There are certainly a lot of repro front early lenses around but the rears should be genuine as they cover such a wide model year range (73 -88)
