Original Ducktail

Post by jtparr »

so who makes the best reproduction ducktail these days?… Is there such a thing as a authentic alternative to the real thing?… That is absolutely ..or acceptably accurate…?

.

I'm a bit out of touch as it's several years since I last had a repro ducktail.

In the past I've had a couple of original steel-framed & one aluminium-framed Factory ducktail plus several repros of varying quality & accuracy.

In my experience the most accurate/best fit repro version was that made by Gary Stratton in the US - his utilise a Factory steel engine lid as the base.

I don't know if any of the high end grp parts fabricators here in the UK (eg EB Motorsport or Dale Edmonds, etc) produce equivalent parts.

Hi

A friend got an ali framed repo from Albert Motorsport which was very good. Still needed some work by the bodyshop to get a perfect fit but is excellent. I think Gary Cook (GDC Automotive) also has a good source.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Is it a 73 or a 74> duck you are looking for JP?
