Hi all!

Post by Capitano »

Hi all,

We’ve just picked up a 1976 912E, it’s my partners car, it’s a rolling reassembly with most parts supplied, having been dismantled for bodywork and paint. Most likely I’ll be posting all the silly questions on our behalf, while she gets to drive it mostly!

Looking forward to picking your collective brains and wisdom on the journey. Thanks 🙏

Hi folks and thanks for the welcome. We are in Kent. The car is in the process of being put back together and we're making good progress. The headlining went in last week, sunroof reinstalled, the dash and other interior trim is being recovered, then the windows to be fitted - we are not sure whether to tackle that ourselves - it would be great if someone in the region has experience in this area and might be able to lend a hand? In the meantime, has anyone got pics of how the speaker wiring in the doors ends up under the dash? We just have two circular holes in the door cards where the speakers used to be, and little else right now!

Is that Haiths old car? Glass wise, I would get someone in, they can be a bit of a pig to fit. My car is at the garage at the moment, so can't help you with the wires, but it will be the same as any impact bumper of that era

Yes that’s right. We think it’s gone to a good home and enjoying the journey to getting her back on the road soon.
