Hi There,
I've found it's always worth giving them a call. Firstly to check stock and lead times (not all items listed on the site are in stock), secondly you can get a discount depending on what the item is, think I've had up to 10%. Dean Taylor was really helpful.

Just ordered 45 items for my engine rebuild. Have a guess how many of those 45 are now on backorder?anglophone1 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 30, 2021 1:51 pm They are also quite good at taking orders for stuff not in stock.....................

Rob,
Try Mecatechnic, they have 50% off some items as well until 16/7/2024
https://www.mecatechnic.com/en-GB/b-porsche/m-911
Design 911 are a pain for allowing an order to go through, and NOT having it in stock, seems to have been their bugbear for the past few years now! I avoid them at all costs.

I have to agree after trying to order a set of spark plugs from them. After three incorrect deliveries we gave up. I wonder how they make money if they can’t get the basics right

Re: Discount Code for Design911
I've had mixed 'performance' from them, but the back order notification after ordering on'line is a real irritation. I have complained many times, but the response is 'phone to find out'
What is the point of on-line orders if you have to call first then give then your card details over the phone (trustworthy?)
Their prices used to be non VAT so there was that surprise too!
Prices now inc VAT.
My last Boxster order was good, on time etc.
Maybe the modern stuff is easier to get/keep in stock/ more in demand.
Worst of all was the run around 3 years ago for main/big end shells for my 3.2 and timing chains.
Having said all that another smaller 'specialist' supplier of classic bit were a BIG disappointment, and never again, ever.

Re: Discount Code for Design911
I could tolerate all of these issues when they included a free bag of porsche-shaped gummy sweets but when that stopped my frustration increased significantly.

.
Only used Design 911 a couple of times many years ago but vowed never to use them again.
I''ve found there are always cheaper sources for parts (often significantly) - who have the parts 'on the shelf' & who are much quicker at sending them ...

Re: Discount Code for Design911
And everything’s a non-stock item with Porsche Classic too so you can’t return anything
