Engine cover lid opens

Question, I think this is a minor adjustment but would appreciate any expert comments.
The lid does not lock in place. I can push it down and it opens without any issues.
I've tried putting both WD40 on the mechanism to keep it lubed, latch seems to work well.
Can I make a simple adjustment to the spring loaded closer? The engine cover lid lines up well with the rest of the body.
Thoughts appreciated.

Quite possibly not adjusted properly... there is a small hole in the cover of receiving part of the latch and a similar size hole in the opening arm below that. For correct adjustment put a small screw driver through both holes then tighten up the cable clamp. Under normal adjustment you should always see the lower hole through the top. try that first.

I think I fixed it. Took a small screw driver, and seemed to line up the holes OK, the screw driver was short and didn't find the cable screw.
But I looked at the male piece on the engine lid, and the spring loaded locking mechanism didn't look square, so I turned it 180 degrees, and the cover locked into place. Hope it did the trick and thanks for your help.
