Whats market price of Orange crest hood badge?

Post by leedurrant73 »

looks like my 69t has a genuine Porsche crest but a newer model.
Its mint but would rather have the correct one.

Any idea of type, markings etc I need?

And realistic price ?

Thanks Lee

The quality of the new ones (I’ve seen) is just so poor compared to the originals. A 69MY would probably have had the nicest of the original badges. The ‘mid years’ badge (as I would describe it), when weathered, has a ‘copper’ appearance and weighs a tad more than earlier 60’s and later 70’s originals. Even original orange bar badges went through several transformations up to 74 ish.

I have one of the ‘new’ Porsche badges which from memory cost about 80 quid but a very nice original with no defects is generally in the £300 range and a mint original (as sold in the USA) sold for over $1000 recently.

An original red bar badge is considerably less valuable Lee no matter how nice.
Hope this helps a bit.

Regards
Mike

Hey thanks Mike,

I've been making a wish list and gradually buying the replacement parts I need, I now have generally the replacement repair panels and on to Collecting smaller items. The cars wings, doors, bumpers and bonnet are bare metal. Interior and some windows are out.

Will start on stripping paint once we have better weather. Been saving the pennies just need to Sell the Heuer and ready for body resto...... The badge is on the list.

Appreciate your expert service...

Thanks Lee
