What price would one expect to pay for a 2.2S engine ?

Difficult question.

If it’s a fully rebuilt engine by a respected specialist with all the correct MFI tin ware and exhaust then £20k.

If a bag of parts then not sure, but you could end up spending £20k rebuilding it.

If buying something rebuilt then I would want to know exactly who had rebuilt it and what had been done. Otherwise you could end up spending ££££ on your £20k engine sorting it out.

I'd be guessing but would have thought an honest complete 2.2S with all the right bits would be £15K+ even if it needs a rebuild?.......far more if fully rebuilt.

Of course it’s worth double to the guy or gal with the matching chassis the engine is out of.
