Rear ARB bushes

Hi All,

This might be a dumb question but I am trying to fit the nylon ARB bushsd that go onto the ball on the rear arm and then into the bracket that comes from the ARB.

Is there some obvious way to do this, I can get it on the rear arm ok but no way through the bracket hole.

Which bit do you put on first?

Bush into the bracket, then onto the arm.

Not to say the second step is easy, depending on how worn the ball is this may require clamping it with a whole load of preload then hitting it with a large hammer...

^^^ I've found that to be the only way to fit them.
My Record G clamp has just enough throat to get across the link and the far side of the (aluminium) banana arms. If the bushes are not cold the clamp will just about ease them on.

If you are quick, a heating of the bush already in the link in boiling water will help, but not really needed, just brute force.

I needed that re-assurance that I needed to go to the next level of brute force!

I just heat the bush with a hot air gun them pop it on with a tap of the hammer.

Thanks all, they werent that bad in the end, I think the piece of advice I would give to people doing this this is that getting the bush into the link can be difficult if you just try to press it in straight. The trick which makes it very easy is to but it in at an angle of approx 45 to square, warm it up a bit with a heat gun gently and then press the opposite side in with a screwdriver. This is really easy to after many attempts I had at pressing it in directly with various tools!

Getting it on the ball is ok, I clamped it on with a biggish g clamp and then gave it a bit of warmth and a gentle tap and its on,
