What I don’t understand is why go to that length and get so
many details wrong, some are big mistakes as well and that’s just from a few pics.
Looks nice otherwise

Re: Nice 2.0 S for Sale
Looks lovely, like a new car. The wheels should be 5.5" and look to be 5.5''. The fuel tank looks very shiny and the air filter housing/snout is missing. The engine grille is wrong which is a shame because the correct grille is a lovely thing. What else ?
Good thing it's not Albert Blue, I'd have to sell my house.

To be fair I think many of the pics are work in progress or else missing strut locking washers, missing wing bolts, rear shock washers, and brake line routing would be just a few which are not just how it looks details.

Painted door pins and unpainted hinge bolts should be punishable by death. Second only to not painting the black bits round the door card.

And the front slam panel, ok it’s an incorrect later style, repro front pan with repro tow eye, but slam
panel should atleast be body colour.

Re: Nice 2.0 S for Sale
It does look a bit unfinished in places, true. But in fairness quite a lot of the details are right. Like those door hinge bolts, for example. Bit weird to use the unusual (and probably correct, although late SWB is not my period) triple square bolts, and then forget to paint them. Maybe that's next on the list.
Wing bolts must surely be work in progress???
Brake lines very nasty, as you say Alan, but period correct Kamax / Verbus bolts all over the place. Again, most restos would be the other way around, I would suggest.
I'd definitely want in-progress resto pics. Metalwork could be fabulous, or could be rubbish, impossible to know without bare metal pics.

How the hell do you guys know all this stuff... it boggles my mind every time I come on this site. Have been lusting after a pre-74 911 for years but buying one is going to be even harder than buying a Carrera GT at this rate!

Re: Nice 2.0 S for Sale
Too much information can be a dangerous thing.
Before I bought my 911 I was told :- it had been on the market for far too long, it was too expensive and it had all manner of details that were missing/incorrect.
To be fair, it had its faults but because of that I learned tons about these early cars and what makes them tick. I enjoyed owning it and driving it and working on it and when I sold it, I sold it for four time what it cost me.
Best to jump in wallet first before many more years pass you by.
