Dashboard Top Upkeep

It seems fairly common that dashboard tops on early 911 crack. I am fairly lucky, the one in my 73 RHD is in good condition. I would like to keep it that way.
Has anyone got any tips to keep dashboard tops in good condition to stop them cracking?

Don’t park in the sun, and if you do put a sunshade over it.

Surface temps can reach 100C on black surfaces in south of France ambient temps (maybe not UK!), not surprisingly this can kill even the best trim.

My dash is cracked, any opps on covering it or changing it? I think changing it will be a big job.

Garry (Visualfx on here) had some repaired / recovered dash tops which looked very well finished. Worth asking him for details.

If it's vinyl & you want an 'as new' finish it needs to be vacuum sealed reskinning & I found two companies who could do it. One in the US & one in Australia. I sent my dash, knee pads, door tops, ashtray to https://www.dashboarddoctor.com.au/ and they did a fantastic job and not as expensive as you'd think. Import duty is what hurts though
