MFI Pump Identification

My MFI pump has a very buggered up ID plate. Its obviously been through different build specs over the years. I have no idea what spec it is. Is there anyway to id whether it is an E or S pump physically on the outside or by dissasembling it to some degree? I dont mean fully stripping it down, like maybe taking a part off to reveal a number on the space cam etc..

The space cam has a number stamped on the circumference which you can just see using a dentists mirror in between the cam and the body. I think it’s on the rhs looking into the pump. Failing that the space cam need to be removed to check the number. The number tells you the type but it may well be academic if the pump space cam profile has been messed with.

It might be easier to check what valve lift you have on the cams, and their lift a TDC if you have S cams the pump will most likely be that spec, as was mention in the ad for the car Paul did things right, especially on the mechanical side of things.

Thanks guys both good ideas. I will be pulling the enigine in th next few months so will be able to take a closer look then. I know the heads are 69S as they have the correct "1R" castings. The pump appears to be, or has been at some point, a 006 E pump but could genuinely be anything now. As you say the cams will give some indication.
