Re: Insurance
Thanks James, I won't use Footman James, new owner of Classic Line due to a horrible experience I had about 15 years ago.

Re: Insurance
I've always used Hagerty, never made a claim but the people there that I talk to over the phone are well informed about our old cars and always a pleasure to deal with. The premium is always competitive for an agreed value policy.

Re: Insurance
Been with Hagerty for some time now.
So easy to deal with and my modified 911 was no problem at all.
Just call them, well worth it.

Re: Insurance
Currently with Footman James after purely down to price after the first few years of ownership with Hagerty.
I've never had to make a claim so can't comment on either but FJ were around £100 a year cheaper for the same agreed value

Re: Insurance
Thanks, but my experience with FJ in 2003 was horrible. I was carjacked in Pedmore Stourbridge by the Foley Roundabout. My company car was a Volvo V40 sport. I reported this to FJ, and they treated me like the criminal, I was not to let the thieves have the car, and each time I called them, I spoke to someone different. The worst company I ever dealt with.

Re: Insurance
I too got shafted by FJ a few years ago, very nearly left well in the lurch after years and years of unquestioned loyalty from me.
Went to Hagerty, exactly the opposite.
I don't bother shopping around for the 911 insurance now.

Re: Insurance
My Merc was with RH, and Santander came along with car insurance, cheaper and I had a claim, was hit in the rear just off the 449 by Kingswinford. I reported to them, was to use the other party's insurance, Santander called me, and processed everything incredibly quickly. Car goes in for repair on Monday. I would have used Santander but my car is too old by 1 year.

I use RH, easy to deal with and they paid out on a claim when l pranged Mrs. C3s’s car, they didn’t wriggle or make a fuss, exactly how it should be. Wife forgave me.

Re: Insurance
Could you elaborate on the FJ experience? I'm currently with them on an Agreed Value policy that is up for renewal in May. Don't want to fall foul in the event of a claim.911hillclimber wrote:I too got shafted by FJ a few years ago, very nearly left well in the lurch after years and years of unquestioned loyalty from me.

Re: Insurance
About 10 years ago they said they had covered me for another year, but shortly after they notified me they would not insure the car as the 911 was fitted with a roll cage having covered the car for years with it and that I had been driving without cover as they delayed the change to me. They had changed their insurer I think.
I then had difficulty getting NCB proof and all that and had to scrabble around for another company while having a busy time at work to say the least, all added up to a bad experience.
Best bit though was finding Hagerty who sorted the lot in 5 mins, maybe less over the phone. It took me longer to send the required pictures to them.
Ever since I've stayed with them finding most others are awkward due to the mods on the car. Hagerty understood all the terms and their effect and accepted the agreed value etc with zero fuss.
