UK postage

Post by MikeB »

Folks

Excuse this small rant from one of the far corners of the Kingdom, but I hope you find it informative ;)

I’ve noticed of late there has been a more common use of the postage costs for parts and the like stating “UK Mainland”. Can I point out the the good old GPO still uses the Universal rate for the whole of the UK. Now if you prefer to go Courier they do charge extra for Highlands & Islands, but in my experience Royal Mail/Parcelforce offer as good as service to the outer fringes.
Cheers

Mike

I must admit I'm guilty of this - but I do almost exclusively use couriers who charge extra (or don't offer a service) for Northern Ireland.

Unfortunately Royal Mail just aren't competitive for most parcels sent within the UK.

However, I will include NI destinations in any of my sales from now on ...

Wouldn’t use Parcelforce to send anything I’m afraid - utterly useless

Oddly enough, they're about the only ones who deliver reliably down here.

I only use them nowadays, for bits in the UK and a few parts sent to France.
Never a problem, had several issues in the past with others.
Maybe just luck of the draw.
