Hope someone can offer some help on throttle/injection pump correlation.

I'm running an RS spec pump on a 2.9 RS spec motor with the magnesium stacks and cross-bar from early MFI 2.0S. Going through CMA to get everything working right....and hopefully solving my hot start problem in the process. Engine and pump professionally assembled over 15 years ago and rebuilt again recently. However when reassembling the fuel injection I'm beginning to suspect a previous MFI "workaround" as the mixture and correlation seem very different to CMA advice.

Latest issue is with throttle correlation. With the injection pump on its stop, the pump rod accurately set at 114mm, the butterfly adjusting screws at 3/4 turn off fully closed, the L&R bank push rods without any tension are greater than 150mm yet within a couple of mm of each other. Problem is that the ball sockets are at the absolute extreme of the adjusting rod's length and only held onto the adjusting rods by a couple of threads.

A simple workaround could be to sleeve and extend the push rods, but doesn't seem right to be doing that.

Has anyone else experienced this problem, are there different lengths of push-rods available and if not how did they solve the problem?
