Under acceleration.
Hadn't started it for a while due to leak at the tank oulet. today i put a gallon in and took it outside to work on and turn around. It was popping through the exhaust so i reset the timing and adjusted each carb individually. I got it running nice and adjusted the linkage to suit.
All was well until i drove over the road to turn the car around and when i pressed the accelerator it died. Turned it over and over but nothing. So i pushed it back on the drive and checked to see if fuel was in the tank. O could see it. Then it started again took it out again and it died but restarted.
I figured i may have so little fuel that it may have sloshed away from the outlet pipe? I bought another gallon and once i poured it in the car started and revved.
Apart from my thought above could i be looking at something else?
1.7 running twin 40idf's. Has always run strong.

Re: car cutting out
Possibly a blocked filter in the tank.
Try filling it and see how you go.A small amount of fuel in the tank will be more likely to pick up small particles of debris.
