Ddk are doing classic LeMans again in 2018.

Unlike previous years, this time we have two options at the circuit. At this stage , I'd like to get an idea on numbers, so if you want to come, please post below stating which option you want. ( both options are open, it is not one or the other..... Posting below does not commit you. )

1. Porsche Curves

2. Bleu Nord

Details :

Porsche Curves

Detail follows here for pitch, general admission and paddock passes.

The Campsite is in a private, level site and part of the Travel Destinations offering also very close to their main site at the Porsche Curves. DDK will camp in conjunction with the Irish contingent who have an allocation of 600 sqm for camping in which they will have a central group area to meet up, barbeque and socialise. This site is secure with private showers and toilets and we have the added benefit of using the Travel Destinations on site Bar & Restaurant facilities, and on their adjacent site exclusive track viewing at the famous Porsche Curves.

Cost are as follows and include your pitch, general admission tickets and paddock passes

Driver only in a car and a tent £269.00 per person - Small pitch per person

Driver only in a car and a tent or a motorhome £300.00 per person - Standard pitch per person

2 people in a car and a tent or a motorhome £210.00 per person - std pitch

3 people in a car and a tent or a motorhome £180.00 per person - std pitch.

Grandstand tickets are £60.00 each and must be ordered and paid when booking, children pay full price also.

Circuit / parade laps are £199.00 each and must be ordered and paid when booking.

Getting to France and return is up to individuals with the campsite open from Thursday 5th July closing Monday 9th July.

Bleu Nord:

Organised in conjunction with Brian at 1st tickets.... Our location for the past couple of events and in the general camping area so a great atmosphere mixing with classic owners of all marques. The Ddk pitches will be located together and are of a size which allows a couple of tents + a car. Bleu Nord is located near the entrance so only a 5 min walk to the centre of the action.

Prices to be confirmed , but does work out as the cheapest option for a camping, entrance and paddock pass package + includes the option of free parking pass within the circuit as part of the club parking display area. Track laps are available as are grandstands .

Brian can also organise a complete package including discount ferries / tunnel etc too.

Exact pricing will be available soon, but to give you an idea :

Driver only in a car and a tent £215.00 per person - Standard pitch per person

2 people in a car and a couple of tents £160.00 per person - std pitch

I looked after PCI tour in 2016 and the info is only just out with PCI and also with PCGB R27 (Northern Ireland) so feedback is a little slow at the mo.

Please to say that both myself and Anglophone - incidentally both PCI and DDK members are confirmed at Porsche Curves more will follow.

Thanks for co-ordinating again James. I'd be happy with either option, but the upgrade to Porsche Curves sounds the best. It will be me plus friend Andy as last year

I do not expect to go to CLM next year but having looked at where Porsche Curves are in relation to the village I would have opted to go to Bleu Nord as it was really quick and easy to get to the village. So no doubt I would have been billy no mates!

I liked being close to the village as there is ready food there which saves me having to sort out my own catering and it has cold beer and also another set of loos. There is also more to see than just the racing with the constant action in the pits.

For those of you still weighing up the two options, I can say that I too was sceptical about being down at the Porsche Curves. We had previously nearly always been in Maison Blanche or Bleu.

In reality, with constant running of the 'petit train' between the roundabout right outside the Porsche Curves Travel Destinations campsite and the infield of the circuit, the location feels no different. The train takes you to the northern end of the Karting Nord campsite and the walk from there to the village is probably slightly shorter than the walk from Bleu Nord. You are inside the circuit immediately and get to stroll through amazing stuff like a genuine 917 being dumped beside the service road waiting for its transport. Wish I could find that photo.

Good food and cold beer is available on both Travel Destinations sites down at the Porsche Curves and is surprisingly good value, notably cheaper that up at the Village which has become pretty pricey.

It will be fantastic to have so many Porsche people together on this site. I had a chat with the top brass of Travel Destinations at the NEC Classic and they are a good bunch. The team at Le Mans were excellent two years ago.

My main challenge now is to see if I can finish my '73T restoration before then...

Hi James, thanks for doing the usual. Top man. What would we do without you. (Stay at home  )

Sarah and I are probably up for going again next year. If the RSR isn't ready next year I'll shoot myself. Hard to believe I was targeting to have it ready for the last one and thought it was close, and it still isn't finished
We'll go wherever everyone else is.
Looks like Porsche Curves is winning at the moment so we'll join the flock :brilsmurf:
