Kills two very nice cars. The bit that really made me wonder is that they owner is now selling the car as he has realised that his kids aren't fit in the back? Not the most forward thinking buyer

I quite like it from a number of angles. Don’t like the hump when the hard top is removed - would have been better kept as a coupe. And I’d prefer smaller diameter wheels. And the interior is not to my taste. - should have had something more retro.
But I think the widening works
As for killing two cars, the 356 was dead already and the Cayman is hardly rare

The simple things you see are all complicated

Re: cayman into a 356a
Thanks for showing us this episode of Leno's garage. I do like Jay Leno, as Guy Martin might say - he's a proper bloke. It just shows that there is so much talent about and although this Cay356man is somewhat extreme this is what comes out of the West coast. I have always had desires to have a 911 motor in the back of my 356, unfortunately with prices as they are now this is not going to happen. However having heard of an early Boxter selling for a little under 2K has really got me thinking. Having built four street rods from scratch it's certainly a project that wouldn't frighten me it's just the stupid values of these cars now that puts the reigns on the whole deal. The way the West Coast Customs guys did it by using a real scabby 356 is by far the best way, the only scabby cars you can find these days are Morris Minors and 100E Fords. The former definitely not but a Boxter powered 100E is certainly food for thought. I think it's time to get the spanners out!
