356 Sunday October 1

Post by oldtimer »

At the Shuttleworth Collection , see Events subforum . Expecting about 20 cars to turn out , barely about 10% of the UK population based on pre-booking . I guess fine weather might produce a few more but not going to bet money on it , this is likely to be the last organised 356 event of the year , so if you have got one why not give it a chance to meet some fellow prisoners .

Rob , there must be more than 200 , have only counted the ones known to PCGB register, maybe someone else has a better number . I never see a lot gathered together in one place in UK or many on my 356 travels.

I’ve paid for two tickets and am taking my 356Cbut have not heard from the club and don’t have tickets.

Is there something I should do to sort this?

Hooray - all we need now is good ( ie dry ) weather to keep the tinworm quiet . My car came from Australia and not used to Northern European climate......

Me and sjm73 went to this too although not in a porsche . Nice laid back, if somewhat quiet event . Some stunning old vehicles and a Good turnout of 356’s.

We lasted most of the day, but obviously due the the slow nature of the event a lot headed off early

Well done James , good photos ! You could still have turned up in a Porsche even if not a 356 , they were made to be driven !

The anticipated number did turn up in spite of the miserable weather in the morning . I encountered one other 356 , an SC cabriolet , on the way up from London , the lady driver was going faster than me on the wet A1 , 70ish rather than 60ish ....

I did not spend much time with the 356s , there were 2 rows of them eventually , so I missed meeting up with Ashley.

Did get a very short video of one of the Morgan 3 wheelers bursting into life , 7 cylinder aero engine with stub exhausts , plenty of emissions !

I don’t think I’ve seen one of these fly before.
