The tool on ebay is for the large nut on the flywheel - you are looking to undo the axle nut - so I do not think that will be suitable ???


Usually a large breaker bar with a suitable 4 foot long tube on the end will be needed to release the axle nut

As we know there are more eloquent people on this forum who can help you out with more specific information

The wheel nut is 36mm as well, the radius piece fits to the brake drum and you get a 9:1 ratio. I always found it difficult to get the right torque with a piece of scaffolding even when calibrated with my 105Kgs on the end of it

There are other holes on the radius piece for the flywheel nut.

It is not so much undoing as doing up with the right torque.

Good luck. I tried to get the nut off my 356, went through two ratchets a couple of spanners and in the end had to find a scaffolding pole to get the damn thing off.!

1/2 socket set is useless for removal, minimum 3/4" lorry type set and definitely not a ratchet. Best is a 1 metre breaker bar and scaffold pole if neccesary. I found that the tool in question makes life a lot easier with its 9:1 ratio. I always use new wheel nuts as a nut that has experienced 400ft.lbs must be tired. Based on this it doesn't matter what condition the nut is in once removed, so if it proves really stubborn resorting to none engineering means is a possibility

I bought one of these torque tools and it works well. Once you have drilled the holes out to 14.4mm. Luckily a local machine shop did it for me for the price of a box of Yorkshire Tea

It took quite a bit to get the drum off. I put the wheel back on and did lots of wiggling. Interesting, I probably didn't need to take off the drum as the noise was from one of the shoes being adjust incorrectly but it was only obvious (to me) once I took the drum off
