It may be obvious to some but with little electrical knowledge i'm hesitant to order one.

Yes i have and i have found a trusted reputable company quite close to do the refurb. However my engine came from a 411 and my 914 engine bay was baron of most things so i have no back reference to work with.

My biggest lack of ability is with electrics so i'm further hindered by that too.

So i bought the alternator. The suppressor is a seperate part which i was unaware of.

Now i have to make a gasket / spacer to ensure the longer b+ lugs clear the rear air plate. This is a common known problem but as the genuine gasket is nla it's one of those times for a bit of ingenuity.
