How to sand tubing

Post by scalino65 »

Hi, I need to sand some steel tubing thats quite tricky to get to.Same sort of size as bicycle tubing. I could take a grinder and an abrasive nylon pad to it, or I could do it by hand but obviously would rather not. I want to be sure that I dont put flat surfaces into the tubing with an abrasive.
So, anyone got any tips for doing this? I see there are some tube sanders that you can rig up to angle grinders- anyone used one?
cheers
Will

Hello matey, thanks for the reply.
I think vapour blasting is out (its the chassis tubing on my 7) as i think that needs some sort of contained system. I think I'll try some starchem stripper and then sadly, it'll be a long and lonely manual task after that;)
