Sportomatic Gearbox rebuild

Post by Gduplock »

I am looking for recomendations for someone to look at the Sportomatic transmission on my 1968 911L. I have played about with the system up to the gearbox (stick, contacts, bushes and coupling) with a lot of success over the years. I think I am now at the stage where I need some knowledgeable professional help and maybe a gearbox rebuild.

I had been meaning to contact Chris Turner, God rest his soul (he inspected the car before I purcahsed it in 2010 and I had met him at Le Mans a couple of years later). He and his knowledge are a great loss to the Porsche community.

I am now at a loss as to who might be able to offer me assistance, preferably in the South Eastern part of the UK.

Other end of the country, but a call to Mike Bainbridge up in Kendal could help.
