Fuel Pump Rebuild Kit

Post by kp73 »

Hi, my fuel pump seems to have given up ('68 912). It was never very good, but lately it won't even pull enough fuel to start the car.

Does anyone know if there is somewhere in the UK I can order a rebuild kit from? This YouTube vid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AP0gpyDOVAQ suggests that the two faces of the pump should be machined after a rebuild, is that usually necessary?

Or would I be better off fitting some kind of electric pump instead?

i'd fit electric every time....much easier starting.....make sure its correctly sized (lowish pressure and capacity for our low power engines), and best positioned near to tank

Think I got my rebuild kit from either PRS356 in Essex or Roger Bray's . Very easy to install etc... never had any issues starting etc..
