Where to buy high torque starter from in UK?
Last one I bought many moons ago was from Pelican Parts but I'd prefer to buy one in UK so I can get it quick.
Cheers

Try this company

I haven't used them for a while, but I used their starter motors on a very high compression ford crossflow hill climb engine that used to eat standard motors, and on a remote starter on a Judd V8. They always functioned well, and definitely had a low current pull on the battery

Do none of the 911 hi-torque ones work, or VW ones (e.g. from VW Heritage). Or does it need to be a specific 914 one? I used to know these things but I've forgotten

Thanks Andy, but I only see 911, 928 and 356 ones for sale there. Do they really do 914 ones? if so how do you buy one?

Check the number of teeth against yours, Moggy. Unless it's an oddball it ought to be the same. I replaced what I think was a standard 914 starter on our 914/6 with a s/h SC one.
