One of my wiper spindles has corroded. Does anyone know if these are available from anywhere as they are not listed in PET. I assume they can be replaced or can I just grease it up and re-use as is?
Also, a couple of the white plastic bearings have started to disintegrate so are these and the pivot pins available from anywhere?
Hi Keiron. Mine were corroded too. Not quite as bad as yours, but I opted to sand clean, re-plate and re-use.
I'd try the same with yours and see how it looks and feels in the bracket / tube (don't forget the inside of the tube is prob corroded too, so clean that out as well).
Are the plastic bearings slack? Mine went through the plating process and came out looking odd, but they still work fine.
All said and done, you don't plan to drive this car in the rain much, right?
Hi Jamie - looks like my spindles are hard chromed and the tubes fitted with bronze bushes. What sort of plating did you use and did you fit new bushes?
Do you know if a spring clip ring fits in the end groove, I didn't take these apart so not sure if I'm missing something ?
(and no I don't envisage much wet weather driving )
