Trim sealant/adhesive

Post by Dean.s »

When I stripped the car for it's restore the a & b pillar chrome trims were stuck on with a black non hardening sealant adhesive.

I've done a few searches but nothing seems to match what was on there. All I find is stuff that goes hard or is engine sealant in tiny tubes.

When others have refitted this trim what did you use?

It's normally Dum Dum, but I don't think you can buy that anymore. Try non setting body caulking

It might be Tiger Seal, which is very effective.

Hi, the stuff that Porsche actually used, and is still available is Terostat ribon sealing tape. It is available from Type 911 at about £30 ish.
