Help please. 1965-66 rear quarter trim fitment question

Post by DEEMAN »

Despite there being so many pictures of Porsches available to me I still cannot understand how the front vertical edge of this piece of trim is held in place on the early cars. The B pillar has leatherette on it (and nothing more?). The trim has ONE tongue on it at the rear which clips into the receiver and although there is another receiver at the front it does not seem to be used. If it were then surely it would bend the trim out because of the reinforcement member.
What am I missing? One would have thought it was so straightforward but...... :?

It wraps around the b pillar and is glued in place. The door seal is fitted over it to hide it. There are one or two self tapping screws to hold the mill boad in place prior to gluing the vinyl in place at the inner kidney bowl. Completely different to the later cars with their trim pieces

Hope that helps

Thank you Sean, the leatherette on mine has been stuck down into the backing so I need to peel this off the fore edge and wrap it round the B pillar.
Great, sorted.
