Rear Window Seal - real problems - Whats gone wrong ?

So, you can see the problem, my body guys are struggling to get the rear window in, they say it just doesn't fit, they did the front window and its perfect and the rear quarters as well, but this rear window is a shambles.

Can anyone give me some pointers so I can tell them what to do ??? The car is almost finished and I do not want it looking like this !

Any help fellas ??

No way is that a genuine seal, surely? It's not even 'squared off' at the corners to match the aperture. Been a lot posted on here about aftermarket seals v factory, and there's no doubt that genuine seals are the way to go.

I had the same problem with my 912 and an aftermarket seal bought from a specialist.
My old school window fitter had at least three attempts at it before I bought a proper Porsche seal and it all went well.
My fitter was confident that if the seal was cut down and resized it would have fitted a lot better - but by then I'd seen the light and bought a genuine seal.

The seal came from Porscheshop, they told me it was Porsche Im going to start shouting. Grrrrr !!!!

Yeah, the first and only time I've made this mistake, it will be the last. I bought all the other seals (nearly £2k worth) from Porsche Hatfield and they are immense. I had already bought these and called to check they were original Porsche parts, they assured me they were. They weren't it would now appear. Lets see whether Porscheshop do the right thing and give me a refund. I'm still waiting for the call back. A little something to write about in this months Total 911 if not.

Definitely an aftermarket seal - the only ones that fit are OPC.
