Handbrake Lever Refurb. 73 Targa.

Hi Guys
I'm in the process of refurbishing my handbrake/ heater/throttle levers and now have to decide on the paint finish.
The current finish looks like a black thick Dulux gloss but under that it appears to be a satin finish.
I'm thinking the original might have been gloss but could do with your advice.

Hi Duncan,
I've just refurbed the handbrakes on my 912 and 911. On both I've used Simoniz tough black gloss aerosol. I find this gives a really good gloss finish. If you want to have a satin finish there is also a Simoniz tough black satin.
I use these on the smaller parts where it's not worth using the spray gun.

How do you get the hand grip off before powder coat?

If you heat it slightly (air gun) it will pull off, (after you unscrew the press button trigger) bugger it and replacements are avb.

What Nick says, powder coat satin black but mask off the switch contact before it goes
