Porsche 912 – budget 911 that’s still a great deal

We all know that 1960s 911s are out of most of our budgets – at least until those winning lottery numbers come rolling our way.

But for those of us with a thing for early Porsches, but without the hefty bank balance to indulge, there exists a more affordable option in the 912.

It might only have put out 90bhp at its launch in 1965, but with the sleek 911 styling, more internal space and the great 911 handling, the 912 was an immediate hit – and it surprised us to learn that at one point it even outsold it’s bigger brother 2:1!

As one of the most popular Porsches of all time, and still available today for under £30k, the 912 was the perfect target for our new Cult Classics website – an archive of our favourite classic cars.
