Carpet types?

Post by Timo »

Any one know what we're the different carpet types available for 912s? (mine is a 69)

Most of the carpet I have seen in other 912s is not the same as mine, (it may be that mine are not an original type?)

I know there were different types available when they were new, just haven't seen any images to what each type looked like, most I've seen are the grey perlon type or salt and pepper, but mine are black and a deeper pile than either of those.

Does anyone have any pics of the different types available for a 69 912?

Standard fitment for '69 models was the thin grey Perlon.

You could probably pay extra for optional velour carpet as found in 911 E/S models but I would have thought that would have been the dark grey 'salt & pepper' variety.

I had mine made by the VW chap tup north he still has my old set up there.. as a pattern.

It's close enough and it's worn well and it's very much like that grey and black perlon but like no where near the price £120 ish rings a bell..

if I change them again I will make them my self and sew in the correct edge trim
