I want to re-key the my glove box lock i.e. get it apart and swop the tumblers.
Has anyone done this ever? I can't see how to get the lock barrel apart.
Thanks,
Chris

Re: Glove Box Lock
Thanks for the reply jb.
Alas, mine is a slightly earlier lock but I think I've stumbled across the answer.
I found the following really useful 914 site where the author discusses re-keying all the locks on the car. It appears that you have to insert the key to remove the tumbler, which makes sense now I think about it. Problem is I don't have the key - catch 22!

Anyone with a bag full of keys for me to try, or a crafty idea?
Cheers,
Chris

Re: Glove Box Lock
any half decent locksmith should be able to knock you up a key. Had a main key done recently using the ignition barrel for £30.
