Exterior trim items - New or refinish.........

Post by Jimmy »

Hi Folks

1968 SWB 911T

The car is now running  , next step is to fit the windows and all body work trim :? .
Screwing the old scratched items onto a fully resprayed car seems difficult to bear. One option is to have the existing items refinished (though some are beyond recovery) or to replace. I have to replace the front and rear bumper trim and wondering whether to buy new window trim. Now for the questions:

1. Is the window trim available to buy new inc. seals?
2. Where to get originals refinished?
3. What is the cost of both options?
4. Where best to buy new?

Last time I checked at my local Porsche dealer (Leicester) for my 67 912 - yes - you can still get the chrome inserts for the front and rear screens.

here are the part numbers for my car ( I assume yours would be the same?)

Front Windscreen Seal think it is 901 541 901 20
Front screen chrome trim which is made up of following 2 x numbers
90154191120 x 1
90154191220 x 1
the the chrome joining clips 64454192106 x 4 to do whole car

Rear Windscreen Seal
91154522500

Rear Screen Chrome Trim made up of
90154591120 x1
90154591220 x 1
