Goodwood Breakfast Meeting August 2nd

Post by jeremyg »

Looks like the weather could perk up for this weekend's Thoroughbred Sunday breakfast meet. Anyone planning to go?

Victor, you have a 1967 911S, describing it as a 66 just confuses people, although your car is pretty confusing anyway!

Hi Nick, Not sure what your point is, I was just saying I hope to go. I am not advertising it for sale. Just going to Goodwood.

The car was in fact manufactured in November 1966 according to my COA, but if you want to call it 1967 so be it. The car whatever the year, will be a Goodwood on the 2 of August.
I hope you can pop up, and you can educate me in the correct Porsche speak, so I do not bring the wrath of the professionals upon me again.

All Porsches are correctly described by their model year, rather than production year. Not sure if I'm going, I can't get anyone in my area excited

Last year a number of 356's pre-met to drive in together. The marshals seemed happy to park us side by side, which was great, because we all got to know each other a bit better. Anyone up for that this year?

Will be there again this year in the 356C , there was a good turn out of 356s last year , and the weather looks like it is going to be OK !

Have to go v early as parked up on the start/finish grid , RHD 1964 model 356C in Bali Blue ( made in'63  ) , will not be very clean but it all works !

I hope to pop along to see your lovely cars and take in some rays. In response to the above, I think if a car was made in 1966 then most people would naturally think of it as a 1966 car. If a small number of enthusiasts prefer to describe it differently that's fine - but they can understand why the rest of us see things the way we do.

If the forecast remains promising we may thrash down in the 914.

Look forward to seeing you all there. I'm in my 59 356A, graphite metallic. If we're on the start/finish grid, from what time do they allow access to the circuit?
