RHD 2.4S Sportomatic

Post by pht9 »

thought I would share some pictures of a very rare car that we have recently restored

Its a UK RHD 73S, Hexagon of Highgate, London supplied in late 73, two private (London) owners since

I believe its one of only 2 UK supplied Sporto S for this model year, and the only known survivor

The colour is 341 Royal Purple

Its great fun to drive, the Sporto 4 speed box is amazingly flexible and the synergy of the power delivery and gear ratios feels perfect

Hope you like it !

Great looking car. Can't be that many 2 owner cars around let alone one as unique as that.

Lovely looking car Phil - & nice to hear someone extolling the virtues of the Sportomatic.

Too many people criticise or dismiss them - in most cases without ever having driven one (or at least one that was working as it should) ...

The car looks fantastic, and the colour is great too.

As this section is called restoration threads, so where are the restoration pictures then?...

Was the build date March 73 or April> 73?

Could be yours if you fancy bidding (and have the means):

Best of luck with the sale, Phil. Looks far nicer than the Black/Black car at the FoS. 8)

Really looking forward to seeing it in the flesh.
