I started up the 912 for the first time in about 3 weeks last night and it ran poorly. Almost like the timing was retard or carbs wrong. Then we eat a meal with some friends when we drove it home it ran very nicely! Strange it almost needed to warm up, down and up again.
Anyway I think the answer is to drive the car more!

I'm already learning that they can be a cruel mistress 
After having the new 123 ingniton & coil fitted and carbs tuned last week, I'd been looking forward all week to getting the car out on Saturday, so with a spring in my step i went to the garage, three pumps of the pedal before turning the key, only to feel the pedal go slack on the 3rd push !! AARRHH !!!
So after a foul mouth rant about how unfair it all was I thought of Kipling's Words "If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster, And treat those two impostors just the same" before forgeting all about it after watching the Gunners spank Villa 4-0 !!
Back in the shop today most likley having a snapped cable or linkage replaced. TBC....
