Restored orange bar badge

Post by 210bhp »

A vey nice 'distressed finish' restored original orange bar badge.

This turned out very nice under restoration. It was a mess before and still retains some flaws, notably the flattened area of the lower right edge to the shield, where it ha obviously taken a big hit at one time. One or two very minor marks elsewhere on the metal but the enamel turned out nice considering the ragged edges to the metal bars in places. Original pins still soldered in place. I haven't touched the back at all.

Not perfect by any means but very nice patina giving that 'aged' look.

Comes with new rubber bonnet gasket and speed nuts.

Mike,

Do you have anything in similar condition for a 65 car ?

Can do with a toolkit too.

Sanjay

Oh my oh my, a 65 toolkit........

One just sold on eBay with many comments on the early S registry whereas it was decided upon that it was genuine, riveted shorter clasps, smooth vinyl, putty interior colour. It sold for $1250.........
NO TOOLS, JUST THE BAG!

How badly do you need one?

I have a badge or two for a 65. Send me your email again for pics and price.

Regards
Mike

Here are a couple more restorations completed. The one on the right is spoken for but the one on the left is available.

Finished with a brighter look rather than distressed look. Still showing a few signs of patina. Original badges are so much nicer/better quality than the modern Porsche Classic reproductions.

Hi Mark

Thanks for getting in touch.
The one above left is still available. It has some patina and a couple of flaws and probably suitable for a ‘driver’ car but I have a couple ready for restoration if you are looking for something a little nicer. Send me a pm if you would like to discuss.

Regards
Mike
