Seat Belt restoration!

Post by ollieg »

My car has 4 point vintage Repa seat belts that need a bit of TLC. Does anyone know where I could get them restored? They could do with new webbing in places but I want to keep all the hardware....

Cheers.

Hi Ollie,

About to do mine soon.

You can get all you need here:

http://www.quickfitsbs.com/index.php

Just pull the seat belt all the way out, lock the spindle (to stop it retracting) push the webbing retainer out, slip the webbing out and feed new in. Alternatively they do a refurbishment service if you don't want to do it yourself.

I have also popped into my local scrappy and unwound the webbing off a nearly new car and fed it onto my classic fittings before and got a refurbishment job for a FIVER :)

You can also get about 3 to 4 extra turns on the spring while your at it, so that they retract better when they've gone weak. No need to spend mega bucks.

Thanks Guys…actually Darren the car hasn't got the retractable type of belts anymore…they're fixed 4-point harnesses. Not the best for moving about in…but hey, they look the part!

Cheers Martin, I'll drop Stretch a PM.
