Hello from Oxfordshire

Post by Swifty Boy »

New member with a 1977 2.7 911 targa in arrow blue. I have owned the car for three years during which time it has served as wedding car for my wife and I and performed wonderfully on a 2,000 mile trip through France, Switzerland and Germany with Driving Adventures.

The dreaded rust was beginning to appear and so it just spent the last year in restoration with a number of suppliers. New rear wings and some letting in of new metal were required, carried out expertly by John at Chesterton Coachworks. Preparation and a glass-out re-spray were carried out by Steve at SGM Racepaint at Banbury (who paints Autofarm cars), followed by an attentive rebuild by Gary at GDC Automotive (who used to work for Autofarm). I am very happy with the results and took the car to the Porsche Picnic at Mapledurham House this last Sunday.

I intend to start a restoration thread and post some pictures at some point but thought I'd better say 'hi' for now!

Welcome I'm sometimes in Daventry. Which isn't that far from Banbury. Plus I have a targa too.
