Tour ideas for next year?
The Highland tour set such a high standard but anybody interested in any of these (I know I'm probably getting a bit ahead of myself)
The Bridge (unfortunately I don't think even DDK could arrange for Saga to join us)
-> Drive to on 'The Bridge' Stockholm? Via stops in The Netherlands and Upper Germany?
-> Downside is that it may take a while to get there but once we are there perhaps there could be a visit the city v go for a drive choice?
Norway
-> I've always fancy visiting the fjords'
-> There is a 15 hour ferry from Newcastle or could just be done overnight?
-> Maybe the ferry might make it a little expensive?
-> The countryside might be more stunning than the Highlands?
Tour of Western Ireland
-> This has to be the easily of the three?
-> Ferry and Drive to the West coast?
-> I haven't been before but I'm sure there are many on here which could help with routes/places?

Neil I wonder if 'The roads of Daventry' may make more sense for you?

Have you taken a Ferry to Ireland and driven across? It's a long, slow, way!rvzz wrote:Western Ireland

Norway: 50 mph speed limits, stunning scenery and midnight sun

You obviously haven't been here for a while Nick, lots of motorways here now (120kph speed limit) Dublin to Galway on the west coast is less than 2.5hrs.Nick Moss wrote:Have you taken a Ferry to Ireland and driven across? It's a long, slow, way!rvzz wrote:Western Ireland

Not saying it gets my vote though as I see it everyday
The bridge gets my vote and if times right could take in the Copenhagen classic street racing.

''Only'' 1500km from my house.....Hmmm, not as far as I thought ( no, seriously not as far ! )DustyM wrote:The bridge gets my vote and if times right could take in the Copenhagen classic street racing.
Copenhagen Classic sounds good. From what I know they aren't really a car loving nation, but watching the videos it looks like a great event and Copenhagen is a very nice place.....pricey, but very nice.
Also, hopefully next year, I'll have a faster car to get there

Re: Tour ideas for next year?
I'm not saying it will be sunny but ferry to Santander, explore the Coast/Mountains with a stop in Pau for the racing? Might be a bit more low key than the other events? I went to Pau in 2007 to bike with Big Mig and have wanted to go back since.hot66 wrote:also fancy a run to the sun .. down to the med & get the ferry back from Santander ..

Re: Tour ideas for next year?
I was pondering organising a tour of the Ulster coast taking in some spectacular scenery and some famous rally stages ...
