Scope creak and nasty surprises!
I'm picking up the 912 tomorrow after it went in to have the oil cooler checked. I was hoping it was only the seal however the repair list is unfortunately a bit longer
-> New clutch
-> new exhaust
-> new oil cooler
-> new pulley and clutch side seals
-> new pushrod seals
-> 2 x rocker arms
-> lhd heater exchange opened and oil removed
-> 2 x new carbs. It appears that I had 44 weber which aren't right
-> jets replaced from 50 / 170 to 55 / 135
-> redundant fuel pump removed
On the plus side the engine is in a good state!
Hopefully the smile will come back on my face during the drive home and it's my last visit to a garage for ages in this car.

B Limey, that's quite a list, seems like only yesterday you were trying to save a fiver on a cheap sparkplug wrench.
Things cost so much these days, I know, I too changed my jets recently and they weren't cheap.
Not to worry, spending huge amounts on your car like this will impress your wife and will prepare you for the similarly huge bills you'll get in the future.
What carbs are you having fitted ?
Cheers, Mike.

That is a big list Neil! Sometimes its best not to know and just keep on driving in ignorant bliss! But its a valuable asset so worth looking after.
I've sent you a PM about those carbs

weber 40s are being fitted. I will not be impressing, or showing, my wife the bill!
