I dont think its the same, 3,2 use 8mm bolts, 964 3,6 use 6mm bolts, and perhaps different bolt pattern.

All upper (or lower) valve covers from '68-'88 are interchangeable - ie you could fit those from a 3.2 Carrera to a '68 2.0L engine.
All die-cast aluminium upper covers (from mid '75 onwards) are the same.
The accepted 'upgrade' for earlier (warp-prone) magnesium valve covers - especially the lower valve covers - is to fit the die-cast (often referred to as 'Turbo) valve covers to minimise/eliminate oil leaks from this area.
