hi everybody, many months since my promise of many picture but time to dedicate to the project is never enough and during winter...cold garage didn't help
anyway I started from
safety first... rebuilding calipers, discs, pads, pump and a big "service" to the engine(oil, plugs, points, carbs refurbishment, plugs wire...) waiting to drive it rolling road in order to be sure that engine (good compression tested) is good as well as gear box
good confirm...runs well, no smoke...apart from typical initial after-long-stay...
2 drive by for you
on the wave of enthusiasm...starting of dismantling to start metal and painting...
...expected rust..
unexpected crazy of former owners !!!! ...speakers on rear parcel shelf...cut like a fishfood box...
... I knew that there was filler on it... but you can never predict how much...
ok I need sandblasting and get it naked to bare metal (if any metal left...)
ok ...I think that pictures are evidence that...I need many parts replaced more than welded...
fortunately front floor pan is good(already changed) front and rear suspension fixing are good, doors need minor welding in lower part, base of front and rear screen fortunately perfect
big €€ $$ ££ impact due to new front wings needed, rear bumpers, rear floor, new sills
ok I'm on the dancefloor....I will dance

although this restoration topic is becoming a "rescue" topic
now is back home receiving visits from metal workers/paintshop workers to get best offer...while i'm filling shopping list of body parts...
what do you advice me between "sportwagen eckert" and "restoration design" in terms of body parts quality?
furthermore your ddkmembers experience needed...what about the bucket seats I found on? very similar to recaro/ rs type but the brand is "Scheel" as shown on seats itself (australian brand as I found on the web...)

I want to keep them(refurbished obviously...) although I will restore the car to original "T" specs apart from seats and steering wheel (sorry guys but I find ORRIBLE the original one

)
