Hi, my name is Tom Coughlin and my first 356 was sometime in the 1970's. I was motivated to go to German engineering becase before that I had an Allard Palm Beach MK II. No parts were available and since I had young kids and limited finances I sold it and bought my first 356. In 1979 I bought a Bali Blue '65 Cabriolet that I have driven since and drove again today. Six years ago I added a 1955 Continental coupe (remember Jenk's '55 356?) that is Turkish Red.
What else can I say but I am another old guy driving the cars of my youth that I couldn't afford then. If you should end up coming to the States, I'm near Boston and I'll be happy to give a tour of my garage.
In response to the requests below, here is a link to a couple of pictures.
