New bloke

Post by trimblitz »

Hi all,

I'm new on here. I'm reading everything I can , getting info in advance of buying a 911.

I'm looking for a RHD 911 pre '72. Classic look or sporty modified.

I'm also into Mk1 Mk2 Escorts and rallying

Hi Richard I am shure you will find lots of help on DDK, I like the early car's and also help with historic rally cars including a Mk 1 escort most of the events we do are over in Belgium. welcome to the forum. Berny.

So I'm looking everywhere trying to get a knowledge of the specs and prices of early 911's.

The prices do seem to be all over the place. Big increases in prices from specialist sales companies. Better pricing privately.

Are good RHD cars more expensive than LHD. Should I stick to the classic look cars or be tempted by RS clones (did I get that right?)
An RS type car would have to have the performance to go with the appearance. Is a 2.7 engined car valued more than a 3.2 ?

Or should I get a 993 C2 manual that I could use all year ?

All these questions and more. It's a real problem making up my mind... but that's 'cos I'm a bloke and we're allowed to keep changing our mind over what cars we 'need'.

And I've run out of room in my garage. The wifes freezer is going for a start.
