...another '14 fanatic

Post by ollieg »

Hi I'm Ollie and I've got a Porsche problem...I think I'm amongst friends!

To be as brief as possible, for most of the last 10+ years I've been living abroad in the US and Germany although I'm British and now living just outside Newcastle.

I'm onto my 3rd 914 now which is my first project. The first two were both lovely - a 1.7 from 1971 followed by a glorious genuine six from 1970 (see pic). I had both cars when I lived in Nuremberg although the six was bought in Las Vegas and shipped over.

the six looked fantastic

looking forward to hearing about progress - your plan was very similar to mine, although I hope yours takes less time than mine did!

Thanks chaps, yep I think we're looking at years for this one! I'll definitely post some more pics on the 914 forum and will no doubt post plenty of future 'cries for help'!

There are a couple of short vids on YouTube of the blue 'six' in the picture above. Do a search for 914Silverfox if you're interested.

Cheers.

You've got some great driving roads on your doorstep ... that should be inspiration enough to get the 914 finished

You're not far from Stuart " dogbower" , another DDK'er from Hexham

Cheers James,

Indeed...once you know where the speed cameras are!...and some of the 'blind summits' are certainly not for the faint hearted. Thanks for the Hexham contact, I'll give him a shout.

Best, O.
