A tricky question
I know this isn't an easy question but a bit of guidance or even opinions would be welcome.
What's sort of price could I expect to pay for a '72/'73 2.4 911S in sound condition but not necessarily with original engine & 'box?
I know each car's different but I'm trying to get feel for something between a basket case and a fully restored or low mileage original.
It always seems harder to define this middle ground - so, any ideas?

If it's an original 2.4S engine but not the 'matching' one it would hurt the value less than 'another' engine built up to S specs.
Original colour is also another factor. Original paint, repaint to original colour or repaint another colour all affect the value. Quality of a repaint and the actual colour itself all have an effect as well.
I know of two 2.4S's, matching numbers, and in basically original condition without being concours but instantly useable and they are both between 50 and 60k.
Regards
Mike
Edit: I don't suppose it is a 73 rhd targa 2.4S?
which could affect opinions on value.

if you do get one, make sure you invest a bit of time in getting the MFI set up correctly & the suspension ( bushes, shocks + full set up) . For a lot of people their 1st experience of an early 911 is a tired car .....
A decent one can be a fantastic experience, a poor one can be frustrating & leaving you wondering what all the hype is about
