I have been up in the loft and ended up looking through old photos, the ones before digital cameras and came across these.
These brought back some great memories, it was my second Caterham a 1.6 Superlight, my first was a 1.6 roadsport.
What were you guys up to?

I had just moved to Leicester; came up here 12th Jan 2001 to work for CAT after a near unbearable december living at my parents place in oxford, having returned from working in yokohama jp.
I would have been at work about a week 10yrs ago today, and already had a crush on 3 girls in the office
will try and post a few photos of my work in japan; i had a digital camera the size of a brick that took 3.5" floppy disks back then; the problem is not laying my hands on the disks, its finding a computer with a fdd!!

Hi John
strangely enough I was driving around in my second Caterham, a Superlight R (an ex factory development car, with some engine mods), my first was a 1700 Supersprint. The Superlight redefined my idea of fast and on Avon ACB 10s in the wet my idea of twitchy!
It must have have been a "blast" driving your Caterhams around the Lakes. I love driving my 911 but sometimes miss the pure rush of adrenaline that came with the 7.
All the best
Ian

I'd just sold my MGA Coupe, bought two years previously and I completely rebuilt it from the chassis up.
I used the money to buy my first 911, a beautifully original signal orange, ex South Africa 1971 2.2 911T Sporto.
The previous owner had spent £10k in the last 10 years of ownership keeping on top of it and having replaced all new rubber seals, plated engine bay parts, heat exchangers etc. It drove superbly and the week after I bought it, I was having offers to sell it.
I eventually sold it later in 2001 as someone made me an offer I couldn't refuse.
In 2007 I bought it back from the guy I'd sold it to and only kept it about 6 months, sold it to a nice DDKer, to raise money to build my current RS Rep.
It was and still is a great car, and gave me a love for Sporto's.
I would buy it back again in a shot.

Hadn't realised it was ten years til this thread got me thinking
Workwise , same company but now the employer rather than an employee. That'll be ten years too in a few more months

I'd been married about 5 months and had just started a new job working primarily in London with an office in Essex.
I was living 2-3 days a week in hotels in the West End and working with the majority of the national newspaper titles on promotional mechanics. I was to keep at it for a further 2 years.
No children
Had this 912 in the garage being used infrequently.
Oh how things have changed!
Had a daughter, got divorced, got engaged, had a son and bought and sold a good few cars in that time!

Surprising that a few of us have had Caterhams, but I suppose they are new versions of old ideas. Great cars and I think we will have another at some point. My wife who loved the Caterhams had just become pregnant with our first child when we took delivery of the superlight. We then embarked on a tour of the Scottish Highlands
Nice looking back, lots of cool cars, some I am sure we wish we still had.
